Choose an issue from the newspaper (include a
copy of the story) and compare it with the way a similar issue was dealt with
in the past. What lesson from history can we apply to our handling of the story
today? |

Generate questions for interviewing an older person about
a significant historical event (e.g., Great Depression, WWII, Vietnam, Watergate,
etc.) that he or she witnessed. Record your questions and the person's answers.
Then, include a separate section in which you suggest some of the lessons that
you learned from the experience. (Remember, some teachers at AHS can be a great
resource for an interview) |

novel, "Yeager", by General Chuck Yeager & Leo Janos. Once
completed take my test on the novel. If you score a 80% or better on the test,
you will receive full credit. |

Worth 2 Extra Credit Assignments: Take
the President's Quiz - You must come in to my room, sit down with a completely
blank piece of paper in front of you, and list in order and with the correct dates
of service all of the Presidents of the United States. You may use either dates
of election or dates of inauguration -your choice. This is an all or nothing offer:
every name and every date must be correct to earn full credit. If you try once
and are unsuccessful, you can try one more time and that's it. Credit will
be awarded in the nine weeks in which you achieve this. |

Afterwards, in your own words, summarize in detail the film's story and
the message that the filmmaker was trying to convey.
