  • FCAT 4th Grade Reading
    Provides information about the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test and the Sunshine State Standards. It also provides interactive teaching strategies, practice tests, rubric scoring practice, and teacher resources.

  • FCAT Explorer
    The FCAT Explorer offers students fun, effective practice on skills outlined in the Sunshine State Standards and tested on the FCAT. The FCAT Explorer also enables teachers to create reports and monitor student performance and progress. Currently, skill practice is available for 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th grade reading, as well as 5th, 8th, and 10th grade math. A user account is needed and may be obtained through your district office.

  • FCAT Explorer Parent and Family Guide
    The Parent and Family Guide provides information about the FCAT, the Sunshine State Standards, homework strategies and test-taking guidance. The site also provides information about the Sunshine State Standards, the FCAT, the Department of Education, and strategies to help children succeed in school. The 4th Grade Reading Center provides information about the Language Arts Benchmarks tested on the FCAT and offers Benchmark-based "Activities" designed to make learning fun for your child.

  • FCAT Fitness Course
    Florida Virtual School offers a practice test for FCAT. Students can work online at home. Click on topics like "Run Laps with Reading" and "Marathon with Math" for full length practice FCAT tests. To access, click on "Showcase" and then "Enter FCAT Fitness Course." This can be used by teachers as a resource as well.

    Rubrics are the scoring guidelines or criteria used to evaluate all FCAT Reading, Mathematics, and Science performance tasks and FCAT Writing essays. The rubric describes what is required for each possible score point. Six separate documents provide rubrics for FCAT Reading, Mathematics, and Science, and three separate documents provide rubrics for FCAT Writing.

There are also helps for test prep and ESL.

    Internet Learning Network (ILN) provides tools for learning and self-improvement, practice opportunities, hints and links to tutorial sites so that students can see where they stand and access resources to help them do better. Resources are targeted at grades 3, 4, 7, 8 & 12.

  • Lessons Learned-FCAT, Sunshine State Standards and Instructional Implications
    This publication provides an analysis of previous years' FCAT results and contains analyses of state FCAT Reading, Writing, and Mathematics data for the years since the first administration. A task force of Florida educators, Department of Education staff and Harcourt Educational Measurement staff examined FCAT data to determine statewide trends and used these trends to gain insights into student performance. Instructional implications sections have been included to assist educators in improving instruction in the classroom.

    This web-site presents an array of important mathematical ideas and topics. It allows students and teachers to experience math the way mathematicians and scientists experience it via practical applications. A feature called the Big Picture provides instant access to the site's other resources on a topic. These resources include: multiple activities for students and vocabulary explanations of the key mathematical words used in the topic information and activities.

  • PBS Teacher Source
    PBS's Teacher Resources web page contains a search tool for locating mathematics lesson plans by grade levels and topic. All lessons contain the specific objectives & NCTM standards addressed, along with lesson procedures, evaluation suggestions and extension activities. There is a sizable library of online video clips wherein teachers demonstrate lessons with students, accompanied by a copy of the lesson plan and a link to additional related, non video illustrated, lesson plans.
